Cold Rose | The Permission to Stay Still
I made this incense because I know how heavy "love" can feel.
People say, "Cheer up," or "We love you, just get better." They mean well, but it feels like being smothered. I know they care, but I can't breathe under the weight of it.
When you are anxious, you don't need advice. You need space.
It’s exhausting to explain that you’re not being difficult; you are just sick. You don't want to be dragged into the sunlight, nor do you want to be surrounded by noise. Sometimes, you just need to be alone in the dark, and that is okay.
Cold Roseis for those moments.
I put Rose in it, for that tiny bit of sweetness that life still owes you. But I didn't let it bloom. I froze it with Ice (Borneol).
The first breath is cold and sharp, clearing the fog in your head. It doesn't hug you; it gives you room to breathe.
Then comes the Rose, quiet and distant. It is not trying to cheer you up. It is just sitting next to you.
The base is Bitterness (Asarum). It is a boundary. It says: I won't rush you. I won't judge you. I will just stay here.
It is not a perfume. It is a companion for the gray days.
It allows you to pause, to do nothing, and to simply exist without apology.
