I hear that all the time. Every time, I just smile bitterly.
They don't understand. It's not that I don't want to stop; I physically cannot.
The worst part of anxiety isn't the big disasters; it's the broken alarm system in my head.
It just won't shut off.
"Will I finish the work tomorrow?"
"Did I sound too harsh earlier?"
"Is my phone slightly tilted?"
Tiny things, yet in my mind, they scream like thousands of cicadas, turning into a thick, sticky mess. I am trapped inside, unable to move.
Back then, I wished for a gust of wind, or a bucket of ice water, to shut the noise up.
So, I made CLEAR MIND.
I used Green Qi-Nan (Agarwood).
It is my favorite kind. It carries a subtle, gentle coolness.
It isn't an icy blast; it is a clearing coolness.
Like a smooth piece of jade against your skin, slowly dissolving the fog in your brain.
To keep it from being too heavy, I added the breath of summer.
I love the scent of Lemongrass. It has a sweetness, but when you lean in and really smell it, there is no juicy, sweet-and-sour fruitiness.
It smells more like fresh herbs, supported by a slight piercing clarity.
It smells like a clean, dry, cooling sweetness.
Like sun-baked hay, or air cooled by a breeze.
Just a faint, woody sweetness lingering underneath.
The coolness isn't loud. You have to sit quietly and pay attention to feel that clean breath rising up, smoothing out the chaotic thoughts.
Then comes the stability of the wood and the cleanliness of the herbs.
It isn't romantic, nor is it sweet, but it can make that frantic bee buzzing in my chest suddenly fall silent.
When your brain feels like mush and the alarm won't turn off,
Light CLEAR MIND.
Take a deep breath. Let the cool breeze drift in slowly.
Push out all those "what ifs."
Even if it's just for twenty minutes, let your brain hit the reset button.
Stop forcing yourself. Just breathe.
